QFAQ
Why only up to 3999? +
Classical Roman numerals have no zero and repeat no symbol more than three times, which limits them to MMMCMXCIX (3999). Larger numbers need overline notation.
Are invalid numerals rejected? +
Yes — the converter re-encodes the parsed value and compares, so malformed forms like IIII or VX are rejected instead of guessed.
