Which file should my website use? ＋

Put favicon.ico in your site root — browsers pick it up automatically. Add the PNG sizes with <link rel="icon"> tags for crisper results on high-DPI screens.

My icon looks blurry at 16 px — why? ＋

Detail is lost when shrinking. Use a simple, high-contrast logo, ideally drawn square from the start, and check the 16 px preview before downloading.
